Congratulations to Alex Ruleman, Greta Westfall, and Kenzie Hines for earning recognition as athletes of the week for their performances against Fairfax.
Alex earned the award not only for his strong performance in the pool but his hard work and leadership during the week. Despite nagging pain in his shoulders, Alex continued to work hard all week. His perseverance and hard work paid off with great splits in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays as well as the 50 freestyle.
Greta was recognized for her work ethic and willingness to compete. Despite having to compete in three of the final four events, Greta willingly gave all she had without a word of complaint. Her approach to this meet and to practice all last week are positive examples for all her teammates.
Kenzie's performance tonight was also exemplary. Her competitive nature really came out in her final let of the 400 freestyle relay where she chased down Fairfax's anchor. Not only did Kenzie refuse to lose but she also posted her best times as a Warhawk. She has an intensity and desire to improve that benefits everyone around her.
