Athletes of the Week -- McLean

Congratulations to Raymond Lee and Laura Sullivan for being named athletes of the week for our meet against McLean.

Laura earned her recognition for her strong performances in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Her 200 time was a personal best for the regular season. And Laura's 100 backstroke was just off of the state cut. Laura also has an incredible work ethic and attitude that is an example for those around her. She has a can-do attitude and is willing to do what it takes to help her teammates succeed.

Raymond was recognized for his breakthrough swim in the 100 breaststroke. In tonight's meet, Raymond dropped nearly 2 seconds from his personal best time. His willingness to listen to his coaches and implement their suggestions paid off tonight. It may be his first year on the team but Raymond is quickly growing into a strong competitor in the breaststroke.

Honorable mentions go out to Kaitlin Waldron, Katie Rooney, Megan Craven, and Calle Biles. Each of these young women dropped significant time from their 500 freestyle (5 seconds on average). John Sturgill swam a personal best in the 200 IM while Abraham Zimmerman did the same in the 200 freestyle. Connor Simon earned his state cut in the 100 backstroke while Jordan Myles and Oliver Alonso swam season best times in the 100 free.
