Conferences Wrap-Up

The men's and women's teams completed their Liberty Conference schedule this weekend by participating in the conference finals. The meet was a timed finals format due to the snow this past week. The men finished in 4th place while the women finished in 6th place. Despite the disappointing places there were several extraordinary swims.

Special congratulations go out to Madeline LaPorte who set two new school records in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. The 200 IM record was the oldest remaining record, dating back 21 years ago to 1995. Her 100 backstroke also represents a new conference record. Kyle Wu touched first in the 500 freestyle, but was officially second due to a timing error. The team also earned a number of new state and region cuts during the meet.

Next opponent: Both teams will continue on to the 6A North championship meet next week at Oak Marr.
