Jack earned recognition for his performances in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle. Jack set new personal bests in both events, including dropping 3 seconds in the IM. His success comes from hard work. Jack is consistently recognized by teammates for his work ethic at practice where is often leading his lane.
Regan continues to build on a strong sophomore season with impressive performances in both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. She set a new personal record in the 200 IM during the meet, while also swimming her fastest 100 breast in a high school meet.
There were also a number of athletes who deserve honorable mention for their performances:
- Hunter Moss - Hunter earned his region cut in the dive tonight, making him the third male diver to reach that milestone this season. Hunter continues to improve, adding new and more complicated dives to his list.
- Jacob Roth -- Jacob was a key contributor on all three winning relays, including a blazing split in the 400 freestyle relay.
- John Klein -- John set a new personal record in the 100 fly, breaking the one-minute barrier for the first time in his career.
- Sean McCormick -- Sean's split in the 400 freestyle relay was easily the fastest swim of his high school career. Sean works hard every day in practice and it is beginning to show with better form and faster times.
- Will Bush -- Will set a new personal-best time in the 100 breast, swimming a time of 1:09.80. More impressive is that his time was 4 seconds faster than his previous best!
- Owen Dyson -- Owen had a tremendous meet tonight. He earned a region cut in the 50 free and a state cut in the 100 free. Owen's time in the 50 was just a hair off of the state cut, which he will certainly achieve in the coming weeks.
- Collin Guo -- Collin set a personal best in the 200 freestyle, breaking the two-minute barrier for the first time in his career. Collin is a consistent contributor in that event as well as the 500 freestyle.
- James Rushforth -- James also set a personal best in the 200 freestyle tonight, breaking two minutes for the first time in his career.
- Maggie Shi -- Maggie had a strong time in the 100 fly, including earning her region cut in the event. Maggie looked strong throughout the race and is already nearly as fast as she was all last season.
- Alexandra Dicks -- Alexandra's meet included a 50 free time that was only 0.06 seconds off of All-American consideration.She also helped lead both her relays to state cut times.
- Elizabeth Kuhlkin -- Elizabeth also had a strong meet. The best part was her ability to out-touch her competition at the wall. She won the 100 free by less than 0.3 seconds due to her strong finish. She also posted state-qualifying times in both the 50 and 100 freestyle.
