Congratulations to everyone for an exciting final meet of the regular season on Friday! Both the men's and women's teams had strong performances throughout the line-up. This week's athletes of the meet are brought to you Coach Koons!
- Meera Doran, Alison Miller, and PJ Pearson - Meera, Alison, and PJ went out with a bang in their last dual meet as Madison swimmers. They were a perfect 9 for 9 in season-best relay splits, and exemplified what it means to leave it all in the pool. Madison S&D thanks them for everything they brought to the team over the past four years!
- Sophia Brown - Sophia led the Madison girls to a sweep, swimming season-best time in the 200 IM. She used excitement from the win to encourage and support teammates to strong swims throughout the rest of the meet!
- Will Bush - in his last high school dual meet, Will dropped 1.2 seconds off his lifetime best in the 100 breast. Along with 2 relay-split bests, Will looks to carry the good vibes into Districts next week!
- Hannah Carmen - Hannah knocked 6 seconds off last week’s 500, and heads to Districts as one of the top contenders in the event. She also poured her heart out in the 400 free relay, nearly running down one of Oakton’s top sprinters.
- Alexandra Dicks - Alexandra wrapped up her undefeated dual meet season, pulling away from her competitors in the 50 and 100 free. She’s excited to bring the heat for one last run through the post-season gauntlet as a Madison swimmer!
- Joey Eisen - Joey swam season-best times in both the 50 free and the 100 breast, assuring the team he’s rounding into form at just the right time. He looks to be a key player to the team’s success over the next three weeks!
- Collin Guo - Collin improved his season-best relay splits by a combined 10 seconds. His time drops were unparalleled, as he provided a model for how much hard work can pay off!
- Regan Hau - Regan won the race of the meet, coming from behind to get her hand on the wall first in the 100 breast by 0.27 seconds. She looks to lead a strong group of Madison breaststrokers into the postseason!
- Anabel Huffstutler - Anabel went from 5th to 3rd (by 0.03!) in the last 50 to swim a season-best time in the 500. She looks to bring these savvy racing skills to the Concorde District meet next week!
- Camille Jacobs, Elsa Marsden, and Elizabeth McNiff. Camille, Elsa, and Elizabeth proved yet again, that divers can hold their own in the pool. Fresh off strong diving performances, the girls represented the team with pride in the 200 freestyle relay! Special thanks to Justina Lu for filling out the rest of the "diver" relay!
- Elsa Marsden - Elsa has been the powerhouse of the dive team, with her Top 3 finish in every meet, infectious smile, and top-notch cheering. She looks forward to leading the diving crew into districts!
- Michael Reed - Michael is our can-do guy, as he swims different events nearly every meet. We thank Michael for his willingness and flexibility as it helps us round out a strong district roster!
