The men's and women's teams wrapped up another successful weekend with strong performances against both Chantilly and Hayfield. The men split this weekend's meets, with a loss against Chantilly by the score of 145-167 and a win against Hayfield 226-77. The women continued their perfect season, defeating Chantilly by a score of 224-91 and taking care of Hayfield 219-84.
The men's meet against Chantilly was a spirited affair with several exciting finishes. The most exhilarating race of the night was the 100 fly where Braydon Philpott and Benham Cobb finished tied for first place! The Warhawks won only 4 events, but kept in the meet thanks to the depth of our team. Saturday's meet against Hayfield featured 7 different individual winners as the team took 11 of 12 events.
The women dominated throughout the weekend winning 11 out of 12 events on both nights. The weekend featured 10 individual winners, including 3 wins by Hannah Carmen, and 2 wins by Maggie Shi, Charlotte Dixon, Emma Wainwright, and Anabel Huffstutler. Even better was the opportunity to watch so many of our younger swimmers compete. Every person on the team was able to compete in at least 1 individual event this week, demonstrating again the type of depth our team possesses.
Next opponent: Madison will wrap up the regular season against Oakton on Friday night. The meet starts at 8:30 and will be at Oak Marr. Friday will also be senior night. While we cannot recognize our seniors in the same way as past years, the meet will still be an opportunity to watch our seniors represent Madison for the final time in the regular season. Please be sure to check the team's Instagram account for the live stream!
