Regions Results and Athletes of the Meet

It was another great weekend for Madison Swim and Dive at this year's Northern Region championship meet. Both teams had strong performances throughout the line-up, with multiple best times along the way! 

The men's team finished 8th in this year's meet with a score of 159.5. Owen Dyson and Brayden Philpott earned spots in next weekend's state meet by finishing in the top-4 in their events. Owen will be competing in the 100 freestyle and Brayden will be in the 100 fly. Owen finished just out of the top-4 in the 200 free by 0.24 seconds while the 200 freestyle relay (Owen Dyson, Brayden Philpott, John Klein and Joey Eisen) finished 5th, just 0.26 seconds out of fourth place and a trip to states! 

The women's team continued their half-decade of dominance by winning their 5th straight Northern Region title with a score of 420.5. The ladies finished the night with 13 state qualifiers, including Alexandra Dicks (50 free and 100 free), Darby Galbraith (100 fly and 100 back), Erica Rice (100 back), Hannah Carmen (500 free), Sophia Brown (200 IM), Emma Wainwright (100 back), Regan Hau (100 breast), and Charlotte Dixon (100 free). All three relays will also advance, including the Northern Region champion 200 medley relay. Unfortunately, due to entry limitations in this year's state meet, we had several young women who swam great but just missed qualifying for states, including 5th-places finishes by Erica Rice (200 IM), Maggie Shi (100 fly), and Charlotte Dixon (100 free).

The women also posted a number of All-American-level performances this weekend. Alexandra Dicks earned Automatic All-American status in the 50 freestyle and consideration status in the 100 free. All three of the relays also earned All-American consideration status.
