Conferences Results

Congratulations to both the men's and women's teams for a great weekend at the Liberty Conference Championships. The weekend was marked by numerous season-best and personal-best times. It was clear that everyone came prepared to compete and do well.

The men finished with a strong third place showing. While the Warhawks' streak of five consecutive Liberty Conference championships came to an end, the team continued its tradition of strong performances in the meet. Some of the highlights included Ian Russiello's two fantastic finishes, which earned him 1st place in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle events. Ian set the Conference record in both events. Alex Ruleman earned a state cut in the 50 freestyle, while the 400 freestyle relay also earned a spot at states. And Grayson Campbell continued his reign as the Liberty Conference diving champion with another strong performance on Thursday night.

The women finished fourth in the meet, narrowly edging out South Lakes by two points. The ladies also had a strong meet with several swimmers achieving state cuts in their events. All three relays qualified for states along with Laura Sullivan (100 back and 200 free), Rachael Holp (200 IM and 500 free), and Madeline LaPorte (100 back). The team also narrowly missed breaking two school records in the 100 back (Madeline LaPorte) and the 400 freestyle relay.

Next opponent: Next week is the 6A Northern Region meet. The Warhawks will have a number of swimmers and divers competing so be sure to come out and support them. Several athletes are positioned to take top-8 honors so it should be an exciting meet.
