Abraham earned his recognition for strong performances in the 50 freestyle and 100 fly. In both races Abraham posted his fastest times as a Warhawk. He followed up those times with a team-best split in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Despite feeling under the weather Abraham still made his region cut in the 50 free.
Sidney was named athlete of the meet after having her best-ever performances as a Warhawk. Her time in the 100 fly was a full second faster than last year. Sidney was also an integral member of the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay. Sidney's hard work and positive attitude are widely-respected by both her teammates and the coaching staff.
Just like last night there were several other athletes worthy of recognition:
- Kyle Wu -- Kyle had another phenomenal meet tonight. He was narrowly finished second in both the 500 freestyle and the 200 IM. He earned a region cut in the IM while missing the 500 cut by less than 1 second.
- Jack Galbraith -- Jack put together a complete meet tonight by winning both the 500 free and 100 back. He was also a key member on both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
- John Sturgill -- John had a break-out meet tonight by posting personal best times in both the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke. His times were nearly 2 seconds faster than last year's times.
- Jean-Claude Guill -- Jean-Claude's backstroke times are continuing to come down and approach his best from last year. His hard work and leadership are key elements to the success of the men's team so far this season.
- Ian Cobb -- Ian also continues to improve each week. He earned his region cut in the 100 breaststroke tonight, which he will look to improve on next week.
- Grayson Campbell -- Grayson stepped up tonight and competed in 4 events. Not only did Grayson break his own diving record, but he also finished second in the 50 free. His versatility and athletic ability make him a powerful asset for our team.
- Madeline LaPorte -- Madeline had another strong meet tonight. Despite having her goggles around her neck she still earned her region cut in the 200 IM by over 3 seconds. Her 100 free was also a region cut by over 2 seconds.
- Helen Hoyt -- Helen dropped more than 30 seconds in her 500 freestyle tonight. Despite not having swum the event in some time she mad an immediate impact by finishing 5th in the event.
- Natalie Zanellato -- It may be Natalie's first season but she is making quite the first impression. Natalie continues to drop time in the 50 freestyle and is now nearly 2 seconds faster than her tryout time.
- Tatiana Swinnerton -- Tatiana dropped 3 seconds in her 100 free over the past two nights. Her hard work is beginning to pay dividends as she continues to improve from tryouts.
