Congratulations to Ciara Barrett, Anna Sullivan, and Bennett Jackins for earning their "E's" this week. Each of these athletes consistently puts forth maximum effort throughout the week in practice. Most importantly, each of these athletes takes instruction well and works to improve from week to week.
Ciara is being recognized largely for her tenacity and drive for feedback and improvement. She consistently asks the coaching staff for feedback on her swims during the meet, as well as in practice. She has a strong desire to improve all aspects of her race and is always pushing herself throughout practice.
Anna is very conscientious of the feedback she receives from the coaching staff during the week and works hard to immediately implement what she learns. The coaching staff also appreciates her willingness to take on events that are not necessarily her best. She recognizes the importance of performing for the team and is willing to sacrifice personal goals and success to help the team move forward.
Bennett also seeks out feedback and support in his swims. This week he told the coaching staff they were "reading his mind" about his freestyle stroke. He did not feel as powerful as he wanted to be and so he focused very hard on the drills we were using in practice. Bennett also provided support and encouragement to his teammates this week as we worked on improving our relay starts, which he already does well.
