Kyle was named athlete of the meet based on his individual races and his relay splits. Kyle had his best meet of the season, including a season-best time in the 100 breaststroke as well as season-best splits in both the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay. His finish in the 400 freestyle relay was particularly exciting as he managed to just edge out Langley's anchor leg.
Julianne Feuchter earned her distinction because of her season-best performance in the dive competition. Julianne posted her best score of the season in finishing second. Her performances establishes Julianne as one of our strongest divers. And as a freshman she has several more years to make a difference for our team.
Rachael is being recognized for her strong performances in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle. She was also a key member of the school record-setting 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay, which posted a time that would have finished in the top 8 at states last season. Rachael's strong swims and steady leadership are keys to our overall success.
Madeline was chosen because of her many impressive swims as well. This week is Madeline's first week back after nations and she wasted no time in contributing to the team. She won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly events, while setting the school record in the 100 butterfly. Her split 0:52 split in the 400 freestyle relay set the tone early as the team won that event as well.
There were several other athletes who deserve special recognition, including:
- Anna Miller -- Anna continues to enjoy a break-out season. Her split in the 200 freestyle relay was one of the fastest by a Warhawk all season. And her 50 freestyle time also puts her among our strongest swimmers in that event.
- Mackenzie McCrane -- Mackenzie had her best race as a Warhawk tonight by posting a time of 5:33.31. She is continuing to improve and acclimate to her new team. She will clearly play an important part in our success at conferences as she continues to improve and get faster.
