Congratulations to the men's and women's teams on their victories tonight against Centreville. Both teams exhibited tremendous spirit as many of our younger team members had an opportunity to compete in individual events and show us what they can do. There was a lot of positive energy throughout the meet, making the night even more enjoyable.
The men's team exemplified why it's called swim and dive, riding a sweep in diving to a victory over Centreville by a score of 158-151. The Warhawks were led by John Klein, Brayden Philpott and Sam Duncan, each of whom was an event winner. The men also posted a region-qualifying time in the 200 medley relay. Brayden Philpott (200 IM and 100 breast), Sam Duncan (dive) and Owen Murphy (dive) each earned region cuts as well.
The women enjoyed the benefits of a deeply talented roster in besting the Wildcats by a score of 222-93. The women's medley relay also earned its region cut, along with Maggie Shi (100 butterfly), Anna Sullivan (500 free) and Darby Galbraith (100 back).
Next opponent: The Warhawks will look to continue their success next week against McLean. The meet will begin at 6:30 at Spring Hill. Diving will start the meet and will be followed by swim.
