Congratulations to both the men's and women's teams on their victories tonight against Westfield. Both teams finished a successful regular season by posting some of the strongest performances of the season.
The men's team finished the regular season 7-2 by defeating Westfield 200-115. The men won 9 events on their way to victory. Individual winners included Owen Dyson (200 free and 100 back), Brayden Philpott (200 IM and 500 free), Sam Duncan (dive), and Jacob Roth (100 fly). The men's medley relay earned a state cut on way to winning the event. Sam Duncan also set a new team record in the dive event, breaking Grayson Campbell's old mark of 374.55 with a score of 378.25.
The women's team as 8-1 this season, including their 224-91 victory over the Bulldogs. The women 11 out of 12 events, including sweeps in all 3 relays. The team's depth was on full display as six different women won individual events, including Anna Sullivan (200 free), Maggie Shi (200 IM), Elizabeth Kuhlkin (50 free and 100 free), Sophia Brown (100 fly), Hannah Carmen (500 free), and Erica Rice (100 back). The 200 free relay also earned a state cut for the first time this season.
Next opponent: With the regular season over it's time for championship season. The Concorde District Championships will begin with prelims on Friday and finals on Saturday. Dive will begin Friday morning at 10:45 with girls diving; boys are scheduled to start 2:00. Swimming preliminaries and finals will start at 5:30 pm each night. We hope to see you there!
