The VA Class 6 State Championships were this weekend. And with them came the conclusion of a tremendously successful season. The Warhawks closed out the season with a great showing on Friday, with the women finishing 4th in the state and the men finishing 17th.

The team had 9 top-8 individual finishes along with 3 relays. Top-8 performers included Owen Dyson, Regan Hau, Charlotte Dixon, Sophia Brown, Hannah Carmen, Anabel Huffstutler and Emma Wainwright. The men's 200 medley relay (Owen Dyson, Matthew Schlueter, Benham Cobb and James Rushforth) and women's 200 medley (Emma Wainwright, Regan Hau, Maggie Shi and Vera Korff) and 400 free (Sophia Brown, Charlotte Dixon, Hannah Carmen and Emma Wainwright) relays were also top-8 finalists this season.

Charlotte and Regan also earned All-State honors by finishing in the top-3 in their events. Charlotte was third in both the 200 free and 100 back, while Regan finished in the top-3 in the 100 breast.

Several swimmers set new personal-best times, including:

  • Kevin Rice (200 IM and 100 breast)
  • Hannah Carmen (100 breast)
  • Regan Hau (100 breast)
  • Charlotte Dixon (100 back)

Congratulations to our senior class on a memorable four years. You helped bring our team to the heights of Virginia swimming and diving and provided invaluable leadership. Your hard work and dedication to excellence are living examples of what it means to be a Warhawk. We are forever thankful for our time together. And we wish you all the best in all you do in the future!

Next opponent: The 2021-22 season is now concluded. Madison Swim & Dive will return to the pool in November for another exciting season!
