Thanks for everything!

Dear Madison Swim & Dive Community,

During my time as Madison Swim and Dive’s head coach I have always tried to keep the focus on the athletes and their accomplishments. They are the ones doing the work, and the ones that deserve the attention. Now that the season is done, though, I would like to address my own future with the team.

After much reflection and discussion with my family I have decided to step down as head coach of Madison’s swim and dive team at the end of this school year.

This decision is certainly not an easy one for me and my family. We have enjoyed working with so many wonderful families and athletes over the past 14 years. Few coaches have felt more loved than I have during my career here at Madison. The last few years, though, have been particularly challenging for my family and it is now time for me to focus my attention on supporting them.

The past 14 years were an incredible experience for me. We’ve accomplished so much together both in and out of the pool. The many championships we’ve won together, though, pale in comparison to the relationships we’ve formed along the way. I will continue to hold each of you in my heart and wish you all the very best moving forward.

Please know that while my role may be changing, my work at Madison continues. I will always be available to provide any support or encouragement you may need – both now and in the future. You may even find me at a meet or two cheering you on!

Thank you so much for all that you’ve given to me over the years. I wish you and your families all the best moving forward.

Most sincerely,
Coach Foos
